I have tried many guitar amps over the years and my set up over the last 5 years or so has been a Fender Hot Rod deluxe 1x12" combo with a Session 2x10" extension cabinet .
I have always loved the sound of this set up, the clarity of the clean channel second to none, fantastic reverb, far more volume than I have ever needed, when our band was a 4 piece the set up was perfect, since we have been playing as a 3 piece I have found the set up a bit lacking in terms of real heavy rock sounds (we now have a new rhythm guitarist), the dirty channels on this amp are good but not quite heavy enough for my playing style now, so I bought a Laney LC30 II and have been blown away by this little amp, the volume and power is fantastic and the amp really responds to every playing nuance and note, it acts as though it is alive, the overdrive is sweet and the sustain I get amazing, the tonal variation is huge, fantastic value for £349 at Kingfishers in Fleet .
