Acoustic Solo / duet wanted

Postby Mark on Sun Mar 09, 2008 1:37 pm

I am looking for an acoustic artist or duet to play between our sets at various pub gigs we play in Andover. My band is "Less is More". This is a great opertunity for anyone wanting exposure, and to play in front of a good audience. Its also pretty easy as you just bring an electro acoustic guitar plug into the PA and play.

We are typically looking for 20 min slot between our two sets. usually we have a duet called "The Unknown Artists" playing, but they can only make about half of the gigs we play.

Downside is its unpaid, and you can not play any songs we are playing.

Interested. mail me on s.mark.holden@hotmail.co.uk

....wow, another opportunity to get paid absolutely zero for somebody....Sounds irresistable eh?!:) You'll be inundated with replies Mark....
Oh and by the way, it is 'Duo'...not 'Duet (a song sung by two people)

Ho, Ho, very funny
Strange how every (unpaid) acoustic open mic, gig at light, propaganda always have musician lining up to play. I also know that recently Midnight fish, Stonepig, and Less is More all regularly have acoustic artistic playing between their set. Out of these gigs Ben Black got a “well paid” gig in his own right at propaganda, and the “Unknown Artists”, got a “very well paid” Wedding gig.

So I suggest you continue to sit at home with your guitar and dictionary and leave playing live to those with the talent to do so.

A light-hearted comment (hence the smiley) within this site, doing a great job, trying hard to promote live music, does not warrant an insulting reply.
I'm sorry that you decided to take it negatively and apologise if I have offended you by my attempt at a humourous reply to your posting, but then I am a guitarist... and not a comedian....'just as well' I hear you say:)
